Project Description

First Western has just completed the delivery of a ‘Trainee Management Development Programme’ for the Guinness Storehouse. The training programme, designed in consultation with the senior team, gives participants a comprehensive set of people and business skills necessary to succeed. The training schedule included the following:

  • Personal development including self-awareness and confidence building
  • People performance
  • Building a high performance teamGuinness Storehouse Logo
  • Managing complaints
  • Communications skills
  • Managing conflict
  • Managing personal administration
  • Managing the business
  • Working with the senior team to plan for the future
  • Operation training techniques/Train the Trainer.

First Western’s role included managing all trainers to ensure content is relevant and meets the needs of the business. A detailed programme specification for each training intervention was designed with the needs of the trainers, the business and the senior team in mind. Each specification includes:

  • Overall aim of the intervention
  • Objectives
  • Key content
  • Learning outcomes
  • Assessment of learning
  • Delivery method
  • Participant materials
  • Duration, dates and times
  • Trainer

First Western carry out a ‘debrief’ with each trainer post their sessions and provide updates to the Guinness Storehouse.  We also supported and mentored participants throughout a project task that they undertook as part of the training programme and will pitch to the senior team at the end of the year.
