Tourism Animation and Development Programme: Leitrim Development Company
Our client, Leitrim Development Company implements the Rural and Community Development Programmes in County Leitrim. First Western were contracted to prepare, organise and implement a rural tourism animation programme for the county that aimed to deliver a programme of networking, training and capacity building activities to enhance the capacity of the tourism sector to compete more effectively for business from national and international markets, develop new product and increase the levels of B2B networking.
First Western delivered 12 training and networking events including an ideas generation workshop and 3 business networking events. In total 224 people received training and support in critical areas such as marketing, product development, web and social media skills. We provided individual mentoring and business support to 10 businesses to help them improve their product offering and marketing propositions. We facilitated the establishment of a tourism business network in the county, guiding it through the initial phase and developing with them their operational plan. This network now operates independently with 40 members and have an ambitious development plan in place.
